My roof leaks, do I need to have it totally replaced?
No, not necessarily. Leaking can result from different things that may have happened to your roof. There could be damage done to a section of the roof or from flashing on the roof coming loose. However, if the leak is a result of improper installation or choice of materials, or from the installation of a roof system inappropriate to the building then you might need to have the roof replaced. Our roofing professionals will let you know if your roof needs to be replaced or not.
What is a roof flashing?
Flashing is just a material, usually aluminum or galvanized steel that is used over joints in roof and wall construction to prevent water leaking in and causing damage.

How much does it cost for a roofing, siding or window inspection?

What will a new job cost?
The price of a new roof, siding or windows all depends on the type of material you choose, whether you are doing a repair or replacing.

What is the best roof?
There is no correct answer to this question. There are many different aspects that go into getting the right roof. The key to selecting the proper roof system is to identify the specific roof design of your property and how each roof system works to meet the requirements. It also depends on what type of material you choose to use on your roof.
Can I do my roofing work, or hire a contractor?
Most of the time you should hire a contractor to do your roofing work. In most cases, manufacturers generally will not give a warranty if you do not have a professional roofer install the product. Contractors are trained to handle the environment on the roof and the conditions that may present themselves when working on a roof. Doing roofing work can be a dangerous task and if something happens while you’re doing it yourself it could be a lot more expensive than hiring a roofing professional to come out and do the work.
How long should a roof last?
This depends on what type of material shingles you choose to use, the quality of the construction, the level of maintenance and also on what the weather is like. Our A&A Roofing & Exteriors roofing professionals will explain to you the different types of shingles and how long they usually tend to last.
How long does it take to replace a roof?
How long it takes to replace a roof depends on the type of roof, the weather, and the inspections needed. Here at A&A Roofing & Exteriors we like to have our roofs done within a day. However, this doesn’t mean it will get done right away as it usually takes about two weeks to get everything situated and paperwork done.
How should I prepare for the installation of my new roof?
With the constant hammering and other construction happening on the roof you will want to move all loose items from your walls and shelves as they could possibly fall off. You will also want your driveway and areas surrounding your house clear. This provides our crews the space they need to work and move materials.
Does siding require any maintenance?
Nothing on the exterior of a home will ever be maintenance free; however, exterior siding requires minimal maintenance, if any at all. Vinyl siding will need occasional pressure washing to remove build up of dirt and grime. Fiber cement exterior siding may need a new coat of paint after 15 years. In order keep your exterior siding from aging prematurely, it is crucial that your gutters work properly and are pointed away from your home so that water is not pouring on, and potentially penetrating, your exterior siding.
What are my siding options?
The two most popular siding choices are replacement composite, which is made of recycled wood pulp and vinyl.
Do I really need new windows?
There are a few signs that your windows are losing energy-efficiency or causing temperature leaks. Your home may need replacement windows if:
> You can feel air leakage around them
> You have difficulty operating/opening them
> There is visible condensation between glass panes
> You see stylistic issues such as exterior paint peeling around them
Once you have taken a look at each window in your home and noted the items above, you may realize it’s time for an update!
Do I have to replace my windows with the same kind of windows I have currently?
Absolutely not!! If you are looking to change the functionality or the aesthetics of your current windows, this is the time to do it. You can change from double hung windows to casement windows or from white windows to black windows. Windows, like all things, are constantly being updated and improved so you might be surprised with some of the new technologies and options available in new windows.
